Senior Test Engineer – Portfolios Team (Hybrid, Dublin Office)

We are looking for a Senior Test Engineer to join the Portfolios team in our Dublin office. This is a hybrid role, with an expectation of 50% in-office presence each week.

You will be part of a cross-functional team developing high-performance, data-driven platforms. This role offers the opportunity to contribute at every stage of the development lifecycle—from early system design through to post-deployment testing and performance analysis.

🧭 About the Role

As a Senior Test Engineer, you’ll work across testing, architecture, and automation to ensure the quality of high-throughput data pipelines and APIs.

This role goes beyond traditional testing—you’ll be involved from the earliest phases of development, shaping product testability, visibility, and reliability from the ground up.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

  • Proactive QA: Contribute to architecture and design discussions to ensure systems are testable and scalable from the outset.

  • API Testing: Develop automated tests for low-latency, high-availability APIs.

  • Data Quality: Validate the integrity and freshness of data across platforms such as S3, Aurora, Postgres, and DynamoDB.

  • Pipeline Testing: Design and execute tests for large-scale, high-volume data pipelines—ensuring consistent, accurate output from ingestion to delivery.

  • Test Automation: Expand automation frameworks using tools like PyTest and Azure DevOps, embedding tests into CI/CD pipelines.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, analysts, and product stakeholders to understand data flows and requirements.

  • Troubleshooting: Identify and report issues clearly, and collaborate on resolutions.

  • Performance Testing: Evaluate the performance of APIs and data flows, identifying areas for optimisation.

  • Mentorship: Support and mentor team members, sharing knowledge and best practices.

(Please note this is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities.)

🧠 Skills & Experience

We recognise experience takes many forms—whether through formal roles, freelance work, or self-directed learning. You’ll ideally bring:

  • Experience testing complex systems in data-heavy environments.

  • Proficiency in Python for test scripting and automation.

  • Familiarity with AWS services—especially S3, DynamoDB, Aurora, and API Gateway.

  • Experience building or maintaining automated test frameworks.

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and test integration (e.g. using Azure DevOps).

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

  • A collaborative approach to continuous improvement.

  • Previous experience mentoring others or leading testing initiatives (desirable but not essential).

💬 Accessibility & Adjustments

We are happy to make adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process to support your needs—please let us know what works best for you. Examples include:

  • Additional time or written formats instead of live interviews

  • Accessible materials compatible with screen readers

  • Remote interview options

(You may not be able to offer flexibility in hours or working locations for this role, but always consider that being able to do this will open up your talent pool and make roles more accessible, so it is worth really considering if you can.)

🌍 We Welcome All

We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds. If there’s anything we can do to support your application or provide materials in a different format, please let us know.
