Job Title: In-House Legal Counsel

Location: Caerphilly

Salary: £60,000

Job Specification

• Serve as the primary point of contact for all legal and compliance issues within the UK business, collaborating with colleagues at the head office when necessary.
• Supervise and oversee legal contracts and compliance documentation, encompassing commercial contract templates (both customer and supplier), the creation of customized agreements, and the development of internal process documentation for various functions such as sales, customer due diligence, and inquires.
• Support sales personnel in their communications with customers regarding legal and compliance aspects, including participation in contract negotiations, tender responses, internal policy and procedure adherence, and addressing related inquiries.
• Play a role in managing supplier relationships by offering advice on and negotiating supplier contracts.
• Provide guidance and counsel to customer support teams and the management team on legal matters as required, addressing issues such as customer contract infringements complaints, and other legal or compliance disputes and queries.
• Contribute to the business’s data protection compliance efforts, offering insights on GDPR and other relevant legislation, as well as evaluating the implications of Brexit.
• Evaluate the impact of new and amended laws, regulations, and case law effecting contractual relationships, and furnish advice to the pertinent business units.

Essential Skills 

• Qualified Solicitor with a preference for 2-5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in commercial law, demonstrating proficiency in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
• While advantageous, experience in the financial and data industries or in-house legal practice is not mandatory.
