About the Role<\/strong><\/div>\n
We are looking for a talented Backend Engineer<\/strong> with strong expertise in Python and cloud-native application development<\/strong> to join our Product Engineering team.<\/div>\n
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building APIs and backend services using Python, FastAPI and\/or Flask<\/strong>, along with strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and AWS<\/strong>.<\/div>\n
You will work on highly scalable and distributed systems, solve complex engineering problems, optimize existing services, and contribute to building reliable cloud-native products. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy taking ownership, working independently, and building systems that operate reliably at scale.<\/div>\n
What You’ll Do<\/strong><\/div>\n
    \n
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  • Build high-quality APIs and backend applications using FastAPI, Flask<\/strong>, or similar frameworks.<\/li>\n
  • Design robust API contracts, validation, error handling, and service integrations.<\/li>\n
  • Develop efficient database solutions using PostgreSQL<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  • Design and optimize database schemas, SQL queries, indexes, and data-access patterns.<\/li>\n
  • Analyze and improve application and database performance.<\/li>\n
  • Develop services capable of operating reliably within distributed and scalable system architectures<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  • Work with asynchronous processing, event-driven workflows, background jobs, and distributed workloads.<\/li>\n
  • Design and develop cloud-native solutions using AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, SQS, and API Gateway<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  • Apply best practices around scalability, availability, reliability, security, observability, and cost optimization.<\/li>\n
  • Use Terraform \/ Infrastructure as Code<\/strong> to manage cloud infrastructure.<\/li>\n
  • Work with CI\/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.<\/li>\n
  • Troubleshoot complex technical and production issues and perform root-cause analysis.<\/li>\n
  • Participate in system design and architectural discussions.<\/li>\n
  • Write clean, modular, reusable, testable, and maintainable code.<\/li>\n
  • Develop unit and integration tests to ensure reliability and maintainability.<\/li>\n
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards.<\/li>\n
  • Collaborate with Frontend, QA, Product, DevOps, and other engineering teams.<\/li>\n
  • Independently take ownership of complex technical problems from analysis through implementation and delivery.<\/li>\n
  • Use AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor and GitHub Copilot<\/strong> to improve development efficiency, testing, debugging, refactoring, and documentation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
    What We’re Looking For<\/strong><\/div>\n
      \n
    • 3–8 years of professional experience in backend\/software engineering.<\/li>\n
    • Strong programming experience with Python<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    • Hands-on experience with FastAPI and\/or Flask<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    • Good understanding of Pydantic<\/strong> and data validation\/modeling.<\/li>\n
    • Strong experience with PostgreSQL and SQL<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    • Experience designing efficient database schemas and optimizing SQL queries.<\/li>\n
    • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    • Experience with one or more of ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, SQS, API Gateway<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    • Understanding of distributed systems and scalable application architectures.<\/li>\n
    • Experience with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    • Familiarity with CI\/CD pipelines and automated software delivery.<\/li>\n
    • Strong understanding of REST API design and backend architecture.<\/li>\n
    • Experience with Git and modern software development practices.<\/li>\n
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.<\/li>\n
    • Good communication and collaboration skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      • Experience with Generative AI, LLMs, AI Agents, AI\/ML, or AI-powered applications<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      • Experience integrating AI capabilities into backend systems.<\/li>\n
      • Knowledge of event-driven and asynchronous architectures.<\/li>\n
      • Experience with Docker and containerized applications.<\/li>\n
      • Experience with application observability, monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing.<\/li>\n
      • Experience working with high-volume SaaS or enterprise applications.<\/li>\n
      • Practical experience using Cursor, GitHub Copilot<\/strong>, or similar AI development tools.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
