Product teams need to read and translate signals from our customers, some subtle, some overt, and turn them into\u00a0features and solutions that make a difference.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>

These signals come from many places\u00a0like product usage data, customer support and feature requests, and direct meetings with customers from different industries and roles\u00a0that focus on\u00a0what they care about\u00a0and how we can\u00a0make their lives easier. With this feedback process being constant, the product team constantly\u00a0prioritises\u00a0and looks after a roadmap to\u00a0meet\u00a0these needs\u00a0with\u00a0helpful\u00a0solutions.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>

That may be a simple feature that makes reporting easier, an overhaul of\u00a0a\u00a0user interface, or\u00a0making support services and documentation\u00a0better\u00a0for example.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>

The process starts with\u00a0feeding back these needs to our internal teams in a coordinated way;\u00a0even a\u00a0simple\u00a0change can\u00a0take\u00a0a village\u00a0in\u00a0practice!\u00a0Our product managers\u00a0are\u00a0not necessarily\u00a0super-techy; rather,\u00a0they\u00a0are bridges and translators between the customers that use our products, and the people that design and build them.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>

They Wear Many Hats\u00a0In\u00a0The\u00a0Product Lifecycle<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h5>

Across the ecosystem of\u00a0Creditsafe\u00a0products, the product team\u00a0is\u00a0involved across their whole lifecycle, including the continuous support,\u00a0maintenance\u00a0and upgrades of products\u00a0we\u2019ve\u00a0launched.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>

Alongside this, a normal day can involve dialoguing with customers and other internal teams, keeping a finger on the pulse about their industry,\u00a0technology\u00a0and evolving regulations, as well as wireframing features and user interfaces for\u00a0products.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

They Nurture Partnerships<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h5>

The product team\u00a0is\u00a0passionate about their work with\u00a0our\u00a0customers, and gradually the team\u00a0has\u00a0built\u00a0genuinely close relationships with\u00a0many of\u00a0them.\u00a0One way\u00a0they\u2019ve\u00a0done\u00a0this\u00a0is by\u00a0hosting\u00a0focus groups where candid discussions take place. It\u00a0builds trust and insight while cultivating a great feedback loop that deepens their ability to\u00a0be\u00a0the voice of the customer.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

They Work Uniquely Compared to Other Product Teams<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h5>

Our Product team is structured a little differently to achieve\u00a0a great end-to-end product experience,\u00a0and to work closely with other teams to support their execution.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>

One difference is that our Product team houses a product support function, so\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0not a\u00a0separate\u00a0department as is often the case.\u00a0Instead,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0an integral part\u00a0of\u00a0the Product\u00a0team and keeps the lifecycle management\u00a0and evolution\u00a0of our products\u00a0and how they work together\u00a0easier\u00a0to manage.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

Likewise, the Product team works\u00a0very\u00a0closely with other teams on the practical,\u00a0logistical\u00a0and regulatory aspects of\u00a0developing\u00a0products. With a lot of collaboration\u00a0occurring\u00a0with various engineering teams as well as the Project Management Office.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Nileema Ali \u2013\u00a0Senior\u00a0Product Manager<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h3>

Nileema is a Senior Product Manager\u00a0who looks after our KYC Protect product lines. Her\u00a0work\u00a0centres\u00a0on balancing customer needs, keeping up with the compliance landscape,\u00a0and\u00a0collaboration across teams. Day to day, her role spans strategy, delivery, customer engagement, and keeping pace with a\u00a0fast<\/span>\u2011changing\u00a0regulatory landscape.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

What\u2019s\u00a0one or two key things that\u00a0a great product\u00a0team needs to have in any business?<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h5>

\u201cTo always have the customers\u2019 best interests always at heart and a collaborative and\u00a0knowledge<\/span>\u2011sharing\u00a0working environment.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>

What\u2019s\u00a0one challenging and one rewarding part of your\u00a0line of work?<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h5>

\u201cSeeing the positive impact of a change, i.e. customers confirming that an update has been helpful in reducing operational costs or workload \u2014 and sometimes we get the occasional customer that will tell us they actually caught a \u2018bad actor\u2019 trying to use their services, saving them thousands if not millions in penalties and fines\u2026not to mention the PR disaster!\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>

What does a day in your life look like within the department?<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h5>

\u201cMy day revolves around meetings with the team to ensure that implementations are progressing as planned, not just technically but operationally as well \u2014 and trying to unblock them if they are not going according to plan. I may have meetings with other countries to align on strategy or knowledge transfer, then usually move to taking a customer call or two during the day,\u00a0horizon<\/span>\u2011scanning\u00a0and researching as regulations change daily, and identifying how we should implement them and how we should validate the idea.\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0also doing an ACAMS during the week.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>

What do you enjoy about being\u00a0in\u00a0the product team at\u00a0Creditsafe?<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h5>

Wouter is a Product Director at\u00a0Creditsafe\u00a0and plays a\u00a0key\u00a0role in shaping the vision for our product line and how our product strategy is being delivered across the\u00a0business. Passionate about the impact\u00a0companies like\u00a0Creditsafe\u00a0can have on the world,\u00a0he\u00a0plays a role in\u00a0deepening the ties we have with our customers and placing\u00a0Creditsafe\u00a0as a strategic, consultative partner\u00a0to them,\u00a0rather than being just a provider of products.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>

What\u2019s\u00a0one or two key things that\u00a0a great product\u00a0team needs to have in any business?<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h5>

\u201cFor me, product at its core is about making\u00a0peoples\u00a0lives better, to make the economy tick better. And we can do that by deeply understanding what our customers need and\u00a0building\u00a0around that. The product itself is the \u2018shop front\u2019\u00a0so to speak, but\u00a0what really makes it valuable, is the entire process behind it. It takes listening, creativity, passion, and vision across the team\u00a0and business.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>

What\u2019s\u00a0one challenging and one rewarding part of your\u00a0line of work?<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h5>

“A challenging but rewarding thing for me is that working in\u00a0product\u00a0is dynamic and full of creative opportunities, and that means you can do anything but not everything! Every decision has a tradeoff and\u00a0there\u2019s\u00a0many voices and sources of data that go into carefully crafting a product that truly helps our customers across the entire product lifecycle.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>

What does a day in your life look like within the department?<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h5>

\u201cI\u00a0have the opportunity to\u00a0carve out what a product looks like by drawing on the voice of the customer. A typical day for me looks like many meetings with colleagues and\u00a0customers,\u00a0 coordinating\u00a0product projects, time for creating product roadmaps and ideas, and staying up to date with product data and more.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

What do you enjoy about being\u00a0in\u00a0the product team at\u00a0Creditsafe?<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h5>

\u201cMy\u00a0favourite\u00a0thing about working here comes from the\u00a0fact\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0something of a credit geek!\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0not about\u00a0the tech\u00a0for\u00a0me,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0about the fact that we can change the world and have a good impact on it. The changes we make might not always feel tangible, but all over the world, the\u00a0intelligence we offer is helping businesses to get credit, allowing shipments and deals to go ahead, and creating new jobs! What we build affects\u00a0all of\u00a0these things globally, and\u00a0that\u2019s\u00a0amazing to me.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Alex Marshall \u2013 Product Designer<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h3>

Alex is a Product Designer at\u00a0Creditsafe\u00a0and\u00a0is responsible for\u00a0developing and\u00a0maintaining\u00a0user interfaces and design documentation. Day to day, he contributes to our growing design system so that designers have a suite of UI components and design decisions to work from, and reviews new work to ensure that\u00a0Creditsafe\u2019s\u00a0UX is accessible,\u00a0efficient\u00a0and enjoyable for all customers.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

What\u2019s\u00a0one or two key things that\u00a0a great product\u00a0team needs to have in any business?<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h5>

You need to always be thinking\u00a0from the customers\u2019 perspective and thinking about\u00a0what\u2019s\u00a0best for them.\u00a0Good communication\u00a0is crucial too \u2013 in a product of this size, there are so many moving parts \u2013\u00a0everyone needs to be on the same page and needs to be aware of\u00a0what\u2019s\u00a0going on around them.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

What\u2019s\u00a0one challenging and one rewarding part of your\u00a0line of work?<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h5>

\u201cGood\u201d design is subjective, but can be backed up by psychology,\u00a0mathematics\u00a0and art theory, certainly in the context of accessible design.\u00a0Sometimes justifying a design decision to someone not as familiar with these concepts can be difficult,\u00a0if through their eyes, \u201cit doesn’t look quite right\u201d.\u00a0That\u2019s\u00a0not to say that how they feel is wrong, but it might be the case that there are other critical\u00a0factors that need to be\u00a0considered\u00a0\u2013 it can be difficult to find the balance.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

After talking through the scientific rationale for a decision with someone,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0satisfying to see the moment that it clicks for them.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0even more satisfying when they then apply that principle in their next designs.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

What does a day in your life look like within the department?<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h5>

Day to day\u00a0I\u2019ll\u00a0spend time designing new user flows,\u00a0interfaces\u00a0and interactions.\u00a0As\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0in the\u00a0early stages\u00a0of building a design system,\u00a0I\u2019ve\u00a0got an opportunity to review existing UI from the ground up.\u00a0I\u2019ll\u00a0make sure that any new components or patterns that I produce are documented thoroughly so that other people can use them in their own designs, with confidence.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>

I support\u00a0my colleagues by reviewing their designs to help them\u00a0with usability and accessibility \u2013 to help make sure that when a new product is launched, it can be used easily, by everyone.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

I also work with engineers to\u00a0assist\u00a0with developer handoff \u2013 making sure that the transition from design to development is as smooth and efficient as possible.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

What do you enjoy about being\u00a0in\u00a0the product team at\u00a0Creditsafe?<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h5>

I like that I get\u00a0to be involved\u00a0in such a variety of areas; some days\u00a0I\u2019ll\u00a0be designing a simple form, and others\u00a0I\u2019ll\u00a0be working on an intricate data\u00a0visualisation\u00a0or complex user journey.\u00a0Having such a variety of work on my plate really lets me stretch my legs.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
