Creditsafe Fitness Challenge 2021

Creditsafe Fitness Challenge 2021

There are many reasons why physical activity is good for our bodies – however physical activity is also beneficial for our mental health and wellbeing too. In these winter months our physical activity tends to reduce, especially at times like these when we’re all living under restrictions. This is why we introduced the Creditsafe 2021 Activity Challenge. Our goal is not only to be able to help our colleagues improve their fitness but also their mental health and wellbeing. Participation in regular physical activity can increase our self-esteem and can reduce stress and anxiety. It’s so important to us that our colleagues are both healthy mentally and physically.

So what does the challenge entail?

We have asked all our employees from our Cardiff Bay and Dublin office to ‘Walk the Creditsafe World’

Starting at Cardiff Bay and making our way across the globe. From America all the way to India and all the stops in-between.

Of course, we didn’t expect our employees to actually cross seas and trek mountains, this is all being done in their local areas. Whether it be running, cycling or just walking in their local park, every step and calorie is counted and then converted into KM. We are currently somewhere between Allentown, America and Fukuoka, Japan.

We have a long road ahead but are determined to get to our end destination.

Not only are we helping our colleagues reach their health goals but we have also decided that we would donate £5000 to our chosen charity of 2021 if we reached our target.

Charities have suffered significantly over the past 12 months due to restrictions and fundraisers not able to go ahead. For this reason, we decided for 2021 we will be supporting Velindre Cancer.

Velindre Cancer Centre provides specialist cancer services to over 1.5 million people in South East Wales and beyond. They are one of the largest cancer centres in the UK and each year over 5,000 new referrals and around 50,000 new outpatient appointments are seen by them.

Keep an eye out to see if we make it!
